Baked Crispy Furikake Chicken
A favorite pot luck picnic dish that kids will enjoy. Tender and juicy chicken in a crispy and flaky flavorful coating. This recipe works well with wings and drummettes as well.
3 lbs. boneless skinless chicken thighs
1 ½ c. buttermilk
2 TB Aloha shoyu
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. garlic salt
½ tsp. black pepper
3 c. panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
¼ c. nori goma furikake
½ tsp. schichimi togarashi (Japanese red pepper flakes), optioanl
In a shallow dish; combine buttermilk, soy sauce, paprika, salt and pepper. Marinate chicken 30-40 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray. Set aside. In a shallow dish; combine panko, furikake and togarashi. Remove chicken from marinade; drain excess liquid from chicken. Dredge in panko mixture. Arrange chicken onto prepared baking sheet. Generously spray chicken with cooking spray. Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Serves 4-6.
