Portuguese Sausage Cream Cheese Stuffed Bacon-Wrapped Dates
I can eat these stuffed dates for days... Its a Hawaii-version of bacon-wrapped dates with the addition of a Portuguese sausage-cream cheese filling....I can eat these all night long!! Super easy and Ono!
8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
8 ounces machengo cheese
1 Portuguese sausage (casing removed)
1 lb Medjool dates
1 lb package of bacon
Preheat broiler. Combine the cream cheese, Manchego, and portuguese sausage in a small bowl and mix well. Make a deep slit in each date and place a half tablespoon of filling inside each one. Close dates and wrap tightly in a 1/2 slice of bacon. Place the dates in a foil-lined cake pan and roast in the broiler until the bacon is crisp, about 7 minutes. Remove and let cool for 20 minutes.
When the dates are cool enough to handle, skewer on toothpicks and serve.
