Mom’s Simple Pork Roast
It doesn’t get any simpler than this….and the results are yummy!
4-5 lb. pork butt or shoulder
8-10 cloves garlic
garlic salt, as needed
freshly cracked black pepper, as needed
vegetable oil as needed
1 c. water
Generously season pork with garlic salt and pepper. Make small incisions in pork with a sharp knife and insert garlic cloves into incisions. In a large saucepot or Dutch oven; brown pork well on all sides in oil. Add water. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 2 hours. Slice for service. Optional to thicken sauce for a nice gravy. Serves 4-6.
