My family goes crazy for this simple yet delicious dip. This recipe makes enough for about 2-3 people...if you and your family love clam dip as much as mine, you might want to triple this recipe. I've been making this since 1970.
1 8oz Block Cream Cheese
Juice from 1/2 fresh lemon
1 Small Can minced or chopped clams (set liquid aside)
Garlic Salt to taste
Large bag potato chips (Ruffles preferably)
Allow cream cheese to sit out at room temperature. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, juice of 1/2 fresh lemon and clams. Do not add the liquid from the clams yet. Mix well and slowly add the reserved clam juice until the desired consistency is reached. The clam dip with thicken once it is chilled. Season with garlic salt to taste.
