Baked spaghetti is one of my favorite dishes. It tastes so good and is so easy to make! Perfect for potlucks and get togethers!
8 oz. Spaghetti, cooked, drained
1 lb. ground beef, turkey or chicken
2 tsp. vegetable oil
1 small onion, chopped
½ medium green bell pepper, seeded, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
pinch freshly ground black pepper
2 (8-oz.) cans tomato sauce
6-8 oz. extra-sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large skillet over medium heat; brown meat in oil. Add onion, bell pepper and garlic. Cook 3 minutes until vegetables are tender. Stir in salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer 15-20 minutes. Place pasta in a 2-quart casserole dish. Toss with meat mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and bake 20 minutes. Uncover and continue baking an additional 5 minutes or until cheese is bubbly. Serves 4-6.
