US Metric

1 lb ground beef and/or pork

2 tsp. vegetable oil

1 small carrot, peeled, finely chopped

1 small onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 large egg

3 TB panko

2 TB milk

½ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper

3 TB flour

2 TB vegetable oil

2 TB water


1 TB butter

1/2 c. red wine

1/3 c. catsup

2 TB hoisin sauce

2 TB oyster sauce

2 tsp. brown sugar

Cooking Process:

In a skillet over medium heat; sauté carrot, onion and garlic in oil. Remove from heat and place in a mixing bowl to cool. When mixture has cooled; add beef, egg, panko, milk, salt and pepper with your hands. Shape into desired size patties. Place flour in a shallow dish; dredge patties in flour. In a skillet over medium high heat; brown patties in oil for 3-4 minutes. Turn patties, add water. Cover and cook 5 minutes on low. Remove burgers; keep warm. Into skillet add butter and sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil; scraping any browned bits from bottom of pan. Reduce heat; simmer 2-3 minutes until sauce has reduced. Spoon sauce over burgers or return burgers to pan to heat through. Serves 3-4.
