Poha Mango Vinaigrette
I'm not sure if people really know or have heard of the Poha berry. Its a berry that grows on a vine in Hawaii and can usually be found in jams and jellies. I will be posting other recipes with poha berries/poha jam.
- 1/2 cup Mango Chutney
- 1/2 cup Poha Preserves
- 1 cup Salad Oil
- 1/2 cup Red Wine Vinegar
- 4 tsp Minced Maui Onion
- 1 pc Small Hawaiian Chili Pepper
- 3 Tablespoons Sugar
- 1 clove Garlic, Small and Peeled
- 1/4 tsp Chopped Fresh Basil
Order Poha Jam - The flavor of the Poha Berry is unlike anything else you have tasted. It is reminiscent of pineapple, peach, and even tomato. But the flavor is delicious and unmistakable! It pairs well with figs, ice cream, sweet puddings, meats, and fish. Poha Berries are seasonal and getting harder and harder to grow, or to find in the wild. You may want to stock up!
Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve over salad greens, avocado, tomatoes or use as a dip or marinade.
