Shredded Adobo Pork

A very familiar recipe in the islands, although this long simmer results in pork that shreds easily. Great to be used for an island style pulled pork sandwich. Relish !

Ingredients: Print   Add to cart
US Metric

3-4 lb. pork butt

½ tsp. alae salt

¼ tsp. freshly cracked black pepper

2 tsp. canola oil

4 cloves garlic, crushed

1 c. white vinegar

¼ c. water

½ c. Aloha shoyu

1 tsp. whole peppercorns

1 cube chicken bouillon

3 bay leaves, crushed


Cooking Process:

Season pork with salt and pepper. In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown pork in oil. Add remaining ingredients; turning to coat pork. Simmer 3 hours. Discard and bay leaves; shred before service. Serves 4-6.
