I love recipes like this Ahi Musubi that combine classic Hawaii food and create something that is slightly new, slightly trendy, but just as good if not better than the classic!
- 4 oz. Sushi Rice
- 2 oz. Ahi Poke
- 2 Tblsp. furikake
- 2 Cups Vegetable Oil (for frying)
Place plastic wrap on metal cups. Spread 2 oz. of sushi rice on bottom of plastic wrap and spread evenly, about 1/2" thick. Place 2 oz. of ahi poke in center of rice and cover poke with remaining rice. Form a ball using plastic wrap and bind rice to create a well-packed rice ball (musubi). Coat with furikake and flash fry before serving. Make sure that the oil is nice and hot as you want to deep fry the musubi only for a few seconds.
