US Metric
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Aloha shoyu
  • 1/2 cup Panko (Japanese bread crumbs)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying



  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 up wondra flour (or regular flour)
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 1 can beef broth
  • splash of Aloha shoyu, milk or cream (optional)



Cooking Process:

Mix ingredients well and form into meatballs.  Heat skillet with oil and cook meatballs until brown.  Remove meatballs from skillet leaving the drippings.  Melt butter in skillet, add flour and stir flour rapidly to keep from burning.  Add bouillon cube and smash into flour mixture.  Add broth and whisk until gravy is smooth. Add seasonings if it needs it along with splash of shoyu and milk or cream (optional).  Add meatballs and any additional drippings from meatballs back into skillet.  Cover and simmer for another 5-10 minutes.
