Son-In-Law's Delight Casserole
The original name of this recipe is husband's delight, but I named it son-in-law's delight because I started making it for my wonderful son-in-law and have been making it ever since! Its a creamy casserole made with cream cheese, cheese, sour cream, hamburger and egg noodles.
- 1 Lb. ground beef
- 2 cloves finely minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 small (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 3 ounce package cream cheese, room temperature
- 8 ounce container sour cream
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Cook beef, drain oil. Stir in garlic, sugar, salt, pepper, tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Cook noodles until al dente. Combine cream cheese and sour cream in bowl and set aside. Spray 2 1/2 quart dish with cooking spray.
Arrange noodles on bottom of dish. Spoon sauce over noodles. Carefully spoon cream cheese mixture over sauce, cover with cheddar cheese. Place in refrigerator overnight*. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees, let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Serves 6-8.
*Note: I have prepared this without waiting 24 hours and it turned out fine.
