Extra Crispy, Sweet, Spicy Kim Chee Wings
I was in the mood for wings that were extra crispy, but without the thick flour batter and with a little zip... I've been wanting to try using this kim chee base which I discovered about a month ago. The wings turned out absolutely delicious and it was exactly what I was hoping for.
Salt and pepper wings. Heat oil to 350 degrees. Cook chicken for 12 minutes or until golden brown. Pull wings out of oil and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Increase oil temperature to 375 degrees. Fry wings again after resting to achieve extra crispy wings. While wings are cooking for second time in hot oil, heat kim chee base and honey in a glass bowl in microwave for 30 seconds. Pull wings from hot oil and toss in kim chee honey mixture and serve. Garnish with furikake.
