Mom's Easy Spanish Rice
Spanish Rice - I was so ono to eat Spanish rice that I grew up eating in school so I created this recipe.
- 2 lbs. hamburger
- 2 8oz cans tomato sauce
- 8oz package sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 cups rice, cooked (measured before cooking)
- salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste
Brown hamburger and drain oil. Add tomato sauce and seasonings, mix well. Add cooked rice, a little at a time until all rice is covered with sauce. Make pockets in rice mixture (3/4 of the way down), pour shredded cheese into pockets, then cover with rice. Pour remaining cheese over top of rice, cover and turn heat off. Cover for 10 minutes or until cheese is completely melted. Enjoy!
