Buttered Saloon Pilot Crackers & Hot Chocolate
For us, growing up in Hawaii was simple. This was dessert. A bowl of hot chocolate with buttered pieces of Saloon Pilot crackers. Nothing fancy but so ono! This is a tribute to my Grandmother (Julia Aikala-Abraham-Arieta). The hot chocolate recipe provided here is kicked up a notch using Hawaiian Vintage chocolate.

- Saloon Pilot Cracker Recipe
- Butter
Hot Chocolate
- 1 cup half & half
- 1 cup milk
- 72 pistoles Hawaiian Vintage Dark Chocolate
Heat half & half and milk in a small saucepan. Add the chocolate pistoles the hot milk mixture. Using an immersion blender, mix until the chocolate pistoles have completely melted and a foamy froth has developed. You may also use a whisk, but the hot chocolate won't be as frothy.
Pour into a bowl, butter a couple of saloon pilot crackers and break slowly into bowl of hot chocolate. Garnish if you want with whipped cream, marshmallows, cinnamon sugar, cocoa powder.
