Local style wontons made with Hawaiian opae (dried shrimp). This is my mom's version of the Chinese specialty, a little more expensive, but worth it!
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 1 stalk green onion
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tsp. oyster sauce
- 1-2 pkg Chun Wah Kam Wun Tun Pi or any wonton wrapper
- 6-8 pieces Dried opae (dried shrimp)
- Oil for frying
Preheat oil on stove.
Mix all ingredients in bowl. Place about a 1/2 tsp. of filling in the center of Wun Tun Pi. Seal the edges with water, pressing out the air with your thumb.Fry until golden brown, turning only once.Drain on Paper Towels.
Serve with coleman's hot mustard and shoyu (soy sauce) or your favorite dipping sauce!
