- 1 lb. fresh ahi tuna
- Saran wrap (or wax paper)
- Black & White Sesame Seeds
- Fresh ground Salt/Pepper
- Pickled ginger (garnish)
- avocado (garnish)
- lime wedges (garnish)
- 1/2 - 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 5 fresh garlic cloves (finely minced)
- juice of 1 Lemon
Prepare aioli by mixing juice of 1 lemon and 5 cloves of minced garlic. Add mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and pour mixture into a plastic squirt bottle and set aside in refrigerator.
Slice ahi with the grain of the fish. Take pieces of fish and place between two pieces of plastic wrap. Using a meat pounder or other smooth heavy object, gently flatten the fish fillets until nice and thin.
Place carpaccio on serving platter, garnish with ginger, lemon and lime wedges. Squirt aioli over carpaccio and top with avocado slices.
