YOGURT FURIKAKE LAVOSH
I so look forward to my holiday package from a co-worker friend of mine. While he may not look like a baker, he comes up with some fantastic recipes. A twist on the standard lavosh, this recipe incorporates our popular furikake, toasted seaweed seasoning. Crispy, light and delicate.
3 c. all-purpose flour ¼ c. sugar 1/2 tsp. each salt, baking soda 1/2 c. cold butter, pieces 8 oz. plain yogurt 2 TB buttermilk, as needed 1/4 c. Nori Komi Furikake (prepared sesame seed and toasted seaweed seasoning)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, salt and baking soda. Using 2 forks; cut butter into mixture until crumbly. Stir in yogurt. Turn mixture onto floured work surface; knead lightly. Tear off 2-inch balls; flatten. Brush with buttermilk; sprinkle with furikake; pressing to adhere. Transfer onto ungreased baking sheets; bake 10-12 minutes. Serves 6-8.
