Chocolate Lava Bars
This Chocolate Lava Bars is some of the best chocolate cake of my life. It’s so rich, dense, and fudgy it reminds me of my favorite brownies. All I can say is mmmmmmmmmm.
- 1 egg. Lightly beaten
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 package (18.25 oz) chocolate cake mix
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 box (16 oz) powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
- 1/4 cup Hawaiian Fudge Sauce
- 2 Tbs. very strong brewed coffee or espresso
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Powdered sugar (optional for dusting)
Preheat electric oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13x9x2-inch baking pan; set aside. In a medium bowl, stir together 1 egg and melted butter. Stir in dry cake mix until combined (may need to mix by hand as mixture will be thick). Press evenly into the bottom of prepared pan. Bake 15 minutes.
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese with an electric mixer until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating on low speed after each addition until combined. Gradually add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating on low speed until smooth. Slowly add melted butter, fudge sauce, coffee and vanilla, continue to beat on low speed until just combined. Pour batter over baked crust
Bake for 35 minutes more (center will not appear to be set). Cool completely in pan on a wire rack before serving. Sprinkle with additional powdered sugar if desired. Makes 24 bars.
