We always had these at grandma’s house. This Tuna-Tofu Patties is a really basic recipe, I have seem variations with green beans, bean sprouts, shiitake mushrooms, water chestnuts. It is endless to the ingredients you can add to make this your own.

US Metric

1 (12 oz.) blk firm tofu, drained well, mashed
1 (6oz.) can tuna, drained
1 small carrot, peeled, grated
1 large egg
½ medium onion, minced
1 tsp. ginger, peeled, grated
3 TB oyster sauce
1 TB sugar
Pinch freshly ground black pepper
Oil for frying


Cooking Process:

To drain tofu well, place in a colander and place a plate on top of tofu. Weigh down plate with heavy item (canned good or cup filled with water works well). In a mixing bowl; combine tofu with remaining ingredients. Form into patties. In a skillet over medium heat; brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels.

Makes 6-8 patties.
