Slow Cooker Shoyu Chicken
This Slow Cooker Shoyu Chicken recipe doesn’t get any easier than this. Simply place everything in your slow cooker and let it do the work for you.
Slow Cooker Aloha shoyu Chicken
3 ½ lbs. chicken thighs
½ c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c. Aloha shoyu
2 ½ c. chicken broth
1/4 c. sake
2-inches ginger, peeled, crushed
4 cloves garlic, crushed
2 star anise
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
2 TB cornstarch dissolved in ¼ c. water
Garnish: chopped green onion
Place all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low setting 8 hours. After 8 hours; stir in cornstarch slurry and continue cooking 30 minutes. For service: serve with lots of steamed rice, garnish with green onions. Serves 4-6.
