Rice Cooker Steamed Mahi Mahi

  • 3 lbs. mahi mahi filets
  • Pinch white pepper
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 TB Aloha shoyu
  • ½ tsp. sugar
  • 1 TB sesame seed oil
  • 2 TB fresh ginger, slivers
  • 4 stalks green onion, sliced
  • 3 TB corn oil
  • Garnish: ½ small bunch cilantro leaves

Cooking Process:

Rub fish with salt and pepper. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar and sesame seed oil. Place fish on heatproof plate and drizzle with soy sauce mixture. Top with ginger slices and half of green onions. Place in steamer in rice cooker; steam 20 minutes, until cooked through.

how to serve:

Transfer onto serving platter with sauce. In a saucepan, heat corn oil until smoking. Pour heated oil slowly over steamed fish. Garnish with cilantro. Serves 4-6.
