1 lb. beef sirloin, thinly sliced

2 tsp.+2 tsp. vegetable oil

1 medium bunch broccoli, florets

1 small carrot; peeled, thinly sliced

1 (15 oz) can straw mushrooms, rinsed, drained

½ c. chicken broth

1 TB oyster sauce

2 TB Aloha shoyu

2 TB palm sugar

1 TB rice wine vinegar

1 ½ tsp. cornstarch mixed with 1 ½ tsp. water


1 TB Aloha shoyu

1 TB dry sherry

1 TB sesame seed oil

2 cloves garlic, grated

1 ½ tsp. cornstarch

½ tsp. sugar

Cooking Process:

In a mixing bowl; combine beef with marinade ingredients. Allow to sit 15 minutes. In a wok or large skillet over medium high heat; stir fry beef in 2 teaspoons of oil until cooked through. Remove to a plate. Into wok; stir fry broccoli and carrot in remaining oil. Stir fry until crisp tender. Add remaining ingredients; stirring until slightly thickened. Return beef to wok; toss to heat through. Serve on a bed of steamed rice or noodles. Serves 4.
