Nori Snack

Do you crave salty snack foods?  If so, our nori snack is the perfect recipe for you.  Designed to help support the adrenal glands while satisfying your snack cravings.  

Most salty snacks are made from refined oils and carbohydrates, causing metabolic damage, high insulin levels and therefore weight gain.  Nori snack does the opposite!  Seaweed is one of the most nutritious types of vegetables, but in this recipe it feels more like eating popcorn!  Also included is nutritional yeast, a high protein, vitamin rich superfood that tastes nutty or cheesy, depending on the type. The coconut oil provides medium chain triglycerides (MCT) that actually help burn body fat and build lean body mass.

US Metric

-2 ounces nori strips (unseasoned), or nori sheets cut into small pieces

-¾ cup nutritional yeast (100% cultured yeast with no added synthetic vitamins or other ingredients, Lewis’ Labs brewer’s yeast is our favorite**)

-¼ cup unrefined, extra virgin coconut oil, melted

-1 tablespoon soy or sunflower lecithin (from non GMO soy, if available), optional

-1/8 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste



-Toasted sesame seeds 

-Hemp seeds

-Pumpkin seeds

-Dulse flakes (a red seaweed)


Cooking Process:

In a mixing bowl, combine the yeast, sea salt, coconut oil and lecithin to form a crumbly mixture. Add toasted nori strips and any optional ingredients you choose. Toss well to coat the seaweed with the crumbly yeast.  Makes a great movie munchie or anytime healthy snack!  

**Most health food stores have the yellow nutritional yeast.  This nutritional yeast has a cheesy flavor.  We like Lewis’ Labs brewer’s yeast because they do not add any vitamins.  It has a nutty flavor and is more brown in color.

how to serve:

*Store in airtight bag or container because seaweed absorbs moisture from the air.  If it does get soggy, place it in the oven until it crisps up again.
