  • 2 cups red wine
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 chopped onion
  • fresh thyme

Pickled Onions

  • 3 cups red wine vinegar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 red onion sliced thin
  • 1 New York steak


  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grainy mustard

Cooking Process:

Marinade steak in 2 cups red wine, 2 tablespoons sugar and fresh tyme, 1/2 cut onion overnight.

Pickled Onions - Bring Vinegar, water and sugar to boil in a saute pan.  Add onions.  Trim fat off of steak.  Grill steak for about 1-2 minutes per side.

Aioli - Mix equal parts of mayonnaise and grainy mustard

how to serve:

Put mustard aioli on a serving platter. Cut Steak against grain and lay over the mustard.  Top steak with pickled onions.
