Fishcake Stuffed Inari Sushi Recipe
Fishcake stuffed inari sushi is a local Hawaii favorite that you don't see as often, but is so ono and easy to make. Try this recipe for your next potluck and you will be very popular!
Fishcake Stuffed Inari Sushi
- 1 lb. fish paste
- 1 teaspoons ginger, grated
- 2 stalks green onion, minced
- 2 tablespoons cilantro, minced
- 2 tablespoons carrot, shredded
- 1 large egg, beaten
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon white pepper
- 10 pieces inari age (cone sushi wrappers), drained well
In a mixing bowl; combine fish paste, ginger, green onion, cilantro and carrot. Fold in egg, salt and pepper until well combined. Open each piece of inari age. Stuff as desired. On parchment paper lined steamer basket; place filled age flattening out bottoms a little. Place in a steamer over simmering water and cover. Let steam until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Test by cutting into filling of 1 cone with a knife; it should be white and firm. Serve with favorite soy sauce dipping sauce. Makes 10 filled cones.
