Singer, DJ, and teacher Pomai Longakit joined us in the Cooking Hawaiian Style kitchen. Pomai has Pomai Longakit Chicken Stir Frybeen in the music business for many years with hits like A?ama Crab and Manele. Today she works with her brother Loeka as the duo Pomai & Loeka on the morning radio show at KWXX in Hilo. 


Our host Lanai has known Pomai for nearly 20 years and have been fortunate enough to work with the many of the other talented members of her family as well.  Check out Pomai’s culinary talents as she flexes some of kitchen skills with her rendition of Chicken Stir-fry.

2lbs chicken skinless boneless
4 cloves chopped garlic
1 tbsp Hondashi
1/2 tsp Togarashi
1/4 cup Oyster sauce
1 12 oz. can Chicken broth
1/2 cup Ginger cut into big slices so it’s easy to see and you won’t take a bite into it:joy:
2 tbsp Olive oil
4 tbsp Corn starch mixed with water
1 finger ginger
Corn starch

Julienne cut
2 pieces Celery
1 round Onion
1 Carrot
1/4lb String Beans
1 piece Red pepper
1 piece Green pepper
1 small red onion


Cooking Process:

Heat pan on high with olive oil
Add chicken and ginger and chopped garlic until brown
Add all the spices and vegetables
Can chicken broth
1/2 tsp todashi
1 tbsp hondashi
Oyster sauce to taste (you want it to be a little on the salty side because when you add all your vegetables the vegetables will soak it up the sauce)

Cook until your preference soft or crunchy.
Final: Add and mix corn starch with water and pour into sauce pan to thicken sauce.
