Quesadillas made Hawaiian Style - filled with smokey kalua pork (pulled pork), ortega chilies and cheddar cheese.  Top with fresh tomato salsa or better yet, a fresh lomi salmon dip. When in a rush, I just pickup some pre-made lomi salmon and frozen kalua pig... trust me, its easy and just as ono!

Kalua pork (pulled pork) egg rolls... or is it a spring roll... what's the difference?  To me, its the wrapper.  The egg roll wrapper is thicker and the spring roll is wrapper is very thin and almost transparent before cooking.  This is yet another example of an Asian dish made Hawaiian style!

Making tamales is  a family tradition that goes back for many generations.  We usually make a lot of tamales and solicit the help of the entire family to make these.  Through the years, we have ventured to make not-so-traditional tamales and Kalua pork tamales was a no-brainer!  Salty, smokey pork, with a slightl...

This is a simple dish and the perfect Hawaii version of Corned Beef & Cabbage... Kalua Pig-Stuffed Cabbage Rolls with Garlic-Shoyu-Butter Glaze/Dipping Sauce.  You can either steam the rolls or place them in a baking dish and bake.  Normally I use regular cabbage but today I decided to use Savoy cabbage.
