Mashed Ulu (Breadfruit)

This recipe by Chef ‘Olelo pa’a of Glow Hawai’i fits the bill for a simple and nutritious side dish.

“Ulu is a delicious fruit that I believe will become the fruit of the future. It is a sustainable product that is nutritious and surprisingly gluten free. In Samoa and in other South Pacific countries, breadfruit is one of their staple foods. Maybe that is why Samoa produces tough professional football players”- Chef ‘Olelo pa’a
