Poke bowls have become a very popular grab and go lunch item. This is a take on that idea. A very simple and tasty way to prepare fresh ahi tuna. Shichimi togarashi is a very popular seasoning, often times found on tables of your favorite ramen or Japanese restaurant. Consisting of coarsely ground red chili pepper, ground Sichuan pepper, black and or white sesame seeds, ground ginger and sometimes orange peel.

1 (8 oz.) block ahi grade sashimi

1 ( .52 oz.) bottle shichimi togarashi (seasoned Japanese pepper)

2 c. cooked white rice

Cooking Process:

In a shallow dish, place togarashi. Roll ahi in togarashi and coat as desired. In a skillet over medium high heat; dry sear ahi on all sides. For service; spoon hot rice into serving bowls. Slice ahi as desired and immediately place onto rice. Serves 2-3.
