Taco Rice (Takoraisu)

My friends from Okinawa told me about this dish. Apparently this Taco Rice (Takoraisu) dish is very popular and widely served in many restaurants throughout Okinawa. It's so easy to make. You can make it with left-over ingredients after the taco meal.

  • Cooked rice
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pkg taco seasoning
  • Cheddar cheese, grated
  • Lettuce, shredded
  • Tomatoes, diced
  • Avocados, diced
  • Salsa
  • Cilantro, chopped
  • Sour cream

Cooking Process:

Brown ground beef and onion.  Add taco seasoning and cook according to the package direction.  Put hot rice in a bowl and top with the beef/onion mixture, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and avocados.  Garnish with salsa, cilantro and sour cream, if you like.
