One Pot Chinese Chicken
A Chinese version of our popular Shoyu Chicken. Simple and easy, everything in one pot!
3 lbs. chicken thighs
3 tsp. cornstarch, mixed with 3 tsp. water
Garnish: 6 stalks green onion, green parts only, chopped
6 stalks green onion, white parts only, chopped
1-inch ginger, peeled, crushed
3 cloves garlic, crushed
1 c. water
¾ c. Aloha shoyu
¼ c. brown sugar
¼ c. honey
2 TB sherry
2 whole star anise
In a large saucepot; combine all ingredients, except cornstarch slurry. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 40-45 minutes. Stir in slurry until thickened. Garnish with green onions. Serves 6-8.
