Soy Sauce Eggs

My nephew Charles introduced me to his favorite way to enjoy hard cooked eggs….topped with soy sauce! I love this as a snack to have on hand, it is often my “running out the door” breakfast.  My best friend's mom adds Chinese black tea leaves to her mixture.

Ingredients: Print   Add to cart
US Metric

4-6 hard-cooked eggs, peeled
1 c. water
3 TB Aloha shoyu
1 TB brown sugar
1 stick cinnamon
2 whole star anise
1 tsp. salt

½ tsp. sesame seed oil

Cooking Process:

In a saucepan over medium heat; combine all ingredients except eggs. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Cool slightly. Place eggs in a shallow container and top with mixture. Allow to sit overnight. Makes 4-6 eggs.
