Ahi Carpaccio w/Lemon Garlic Aioli

  • 1 lb. fresh ahi tuna
  • Saran wrap (or wax paper) 
  • Black & White Sesame Seeds
  • Fresh ground Salt/Pepper
  • Pickled ginger (garnish)
  • avocado (garnish) 
  • lime wedges (garnish)


  • 1/2 - 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 5 fresh garlic cloves (finely minced)
  • juice of 1 Lemon

Cooking Process:

Prepare aioli by mixing juice of 1 lemon  and 5 cloves of minced garlic.  Add mayonnaise, salt and pepper to taste.  Mix well and pour mixture into a plastic squirt bottle and set aside in refrigerator.

Slice ahi with the grain of the fish.  Take pieces of fish and place between two pieces of plastic wrap.  Using a meat pounder or other smooth heavy object, gently flatten the fish fillets until nice and thin.  

how to serve:

Place carpaccio on serving platter, garnish with ginger, lemon and lime wedges.  Squirt aioli over carpaccio and top with avocado slices.
