Spicy Sausage Pupu Crostini
Now that I'm grilling weekly, I wanted to come up with a simple pupu-style dish that I could serve quickly while sitting around the hibachi cooking for my guests. The solution: a grilled pupu-sized sausage served on a grilled jalapeno, sitting on a thin crostini.
- 1 package mini pupu sausage or sliced portuguese sausage.
- 12 jalapenos with stems if possible, remove seeds if too spicy
- baguette sliced thinly and toasted on grill
Simply grill all ingredients and assemble. To take this up a notch, add a layer of cream cheese or pimento cheese spread to crostini before layering pepper and sausage. You can remove seeds from jalapeno for a milder appetizer.
