Fishcake Stuffed Inari Sushi

  • 1 lb. fish paste
  • 1 teaspoons ginger, grated
  • 2 stalks green onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cilantro, minced
  • 2 tablespoons carrot, shredded
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • 10 pieces inari age (cone sushi wrappers), drained well

Cooking Process:

In a mixing bowl; combine fish paste, ginger, green onion, cilantro and carrot. Fold in egg, salt and pepper until well combined.  Open each piece of inari age. Stuff as desired. On parchment paper lined steamer basket; place filled age flattening out bottoms a little. Place in a steamer over simmering water and cover. Let steam until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Test by cutting into filling of 1 cone with a knife; it should be white and firm. Serve with favorite soy sauce dipping sauce. Makes 10 filled cones.
