Green Onion Sesame Biscuits

A twist on your standard breakfast biscuit. I had a version of this recipe with chives and capers that were served alongside smoked salmon. Savory and nutty, try it along side Spam and kamaboko omelete!

2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
4 TB cold butter, cut into cubes
¼ c. green onions, chopped, green parts only
¾ c. buttermilk
2 TB butter, melted
2 TB sesame seeds, toasted

Cooking Process:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. In a mixing bowl; combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut butter into mixture with a pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sir in green onions and buttermilk until just moist. Drop batter by ¼ cup onto baking sheet. Brush tops with melted butter; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake 12-15 minutes until golden. Makes 12-14.
