This Shoyu Gohan dish is a simple, one-pot wonder that produces a very hearty, satisfying all-in-one-pot meal. You basically throw everything into the rice steamer, click the button and in 30 minutes, you are ready to eat.
2 cups rice (uncooked, washed)
1 cup cooked rotisserie chicken, chopped
1/2 cup carrot, julienne
1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
1/2 cup water chestnuts, sliced
1-1/2 cup chicken broth
2 Tablespoons sugar
3 Tablespoons Aloha shoyu
2 Tablespoons mirin
fresh ground pepper
Place the washed rice into the pot of the rice cooker. Layer the carrot, mushrooms, water chestnuts and cooked chicken on top.
Mix together the chicken broth, sugar, soy sauce and mirin and pour on top of the rice mixture. Season with fresh ground pepper and start the rice cooker as usual.
When the rice cooker is done, fluff up the rice everything mixes together. You’ll have a flavorful, easy one pot meal!
